Thierry Larret
Professional sports photographer Thierry Larret found his passion for photography somewhat by chance, beginning with a summer job at a local newspaper.
Although he had never having touched a camera before, this experience ignited his interest in the press and he continued to pursue photography thereafter. Spending five years working as a photographer at a ski resort, he found himself increasingly drawn to sports photography.
Completely self-taught, Thierry has none-the-less made a name for himself within the sports and photography world, being a member of the Sports Press in France. He has collaborated extensively with specialist magazines such as VTT Mag, Jogging International, and Trail Endurance, covering a wide range of sports including mountain biking, running, and motor sports.
Thierry says he thrives in the dynamic atmosphere of multi-day events, capturing the “raw emotion and physical prowess of athletes”. His career has afforded him the privilege of covering some of the world’s most prestigious sporting events, including the Rolex Paris Masters and European Football Championships. However, the highlight of his career has been covering the Olympic Games—a lifelong dream that he fulfilled in London 2012 and once again in Paris 2024.
His passion for sports, combined with his skill in capturing the essence of competition, continues to drive his work, always through the lens of his trusted Canon cameras.
